In a bid to help Time and Leisure magazine readers reach their kitchen goals in 2016, lead designer/owner Neil agreed to share some words of wisdom on kitchen design with them, and is featured inside this months issue. Here’s a re-print of the Q&A below.
What are the 3 most important things homeowners should consider when planning a kitchen renovation project?
1. The people who will use the kitchen.
2. Kitchen appliances and their location.
What should people look for in a designer?
Somebody with experience and artistic flair. A good designer should be able to translate your ideas into a design that optimises the space available and achieves the style and finish you desire.
Every home is unique, so when it comes to planning a new kitchen or any other living space for that matter, ensure you choose a designer who understands you, your family and your kitchen goals!
What should I avoid when it comes to designing a kitchen/living space?
Avoid making snap decisions. Compare apples with apples. What I mean by this is, don’t look at a bespoke kitchen and compare it to a modular. A bespoke kitchen will be a lot more flexible in its design and is solely built to fit your kitchen, instead of your kitchen fitting the flat pack.
