What Makes a Kitchen Truly Bespoke

Most kitchen companies describe themselves as bespoke. Few are. Somewhere along the way the industry moved to modular carcasses in fixed sizes, with a made-to-measure end panel to hide the joins. It is quicker, and it is cheaper, and in a room with four square corners you might never notice.

London houses rarely have four square corners. Victorian terraces settle. Mansion flats have chimney breasts, bay windows and ceilings that change height between one room and the next. A modular run forced into that kind of space leaves gaps, fillers and compromises, and you look at them every day.

We start from the room. Every cabinet is drawn for the space it will occupy, built to that drawing, and installed by the people who made it. If a wall is out by fifteen millimetres, we know before the piece leaves the workshop.

We are not a showroom that orders from a supplier. The design happens in our Wimbledon studio, the manufacture happens in our own workshop, and our own teams install. That vertical integration is unusual, and it is the reason we can take on work other companies decline: curved joinery, arched cabinetry, in-frame period detailing, a stainless steel run that has to fall within a millimetre.

It also means one point of contact. When something needs adjusting on site, the person who made it can adjust it.

The styles we work in

​

We have no single house look, and we think that is the point. Our projects include contemporary handleless kitchens in matt graphite, art deco cabinetry in figured veneer, classic in-frame painted rooms, Crittall-style glazed fronts, and pared-back timber. The right answer comes from the house and the people in it, not from a catalogue.

How it works

​

The first design consultation is free. Bring a rough plan of the room, a sense of your budget and timescale, and whatever images you have collected. We produce a concept design and a quotation before you commit to anything. From there: survey, final design pack, manufacture, installation.

​

Our work has been published in Vogue Living, Architectural Digest, Elle Decoration, Living Etc and KBB. Twenty-five years, more than two hundred completed projects.
